Notes from the Author:
This article on Food Addiction is my last installment as a “student.” All of my publications moving forward will bear the credentials “MS, RDN,” meaning: Master of Science, Registered Dietitian Nutritionist. I have put forth a tremendous amount of time and energy into establishing myself as a researcher because it fits me just right. This article reviews a large chunk of Food Addiction literature and explores some of the controversies surrounding the topic. The paper is intended to be somewhat neutral, as it being used to offer Continuing Professional Education units for dietitians. I am grateful to Behavioral Health Nutrition Dietetic Practice Group for giving me the opportunity to shine. And thank you to Renée Hoffinger for the fantastic edits.
